We are pleased to welcome Professor Scott Baier, PhD as the keynote speaker for our Annual State of the Economy luncheon. This signature event provides a look at the economy from a state and national level, providing valuable forecasts for both national and regional economic landscapes. It sheds light on interest rates, housing sector activity, and consumer trends, and shows how a change in national-level politics will impact the economy. Scott L. Baier, PhD joined the faculty at Clemson in 2001. In 2016, he was appointed the Chair of the John E. Walker Department of Economics and most recently, as of January 2025, he was appointed as Acting Associate Dean of Research at the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business. Before his role at Clemson, he served on the faculty in the Department of Finance and Business Economics at the University of Notre Dame from 1996-2000. From 1999-2012, Professor Baier was a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta. He was also a Senior Economists on the Council of Economic Advisers from 2007 to 2008 where he assisted with the production of the Economic Report to the President of the United States.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Registration refunds are available only if cancellation notice is given at least five (5) business days prior to the scheduled event date. For this event, if cancellation notice is not given by 5 PM on Friday, February 14, registrants are responsible for the full registration fee. In addition, event no-shows are also responsible for the full registration fee.
