Sponsored by Amanda McGinty – State Farm Insurance, the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce hosted its 2nd Annual Women’s Alliance Luncheon on September 21 at Tri-County Technical College-Easley Campus where several awards were presented to honor women’s leadership and business success. The Woman-Owned Business of the Year Award recognizes the accomplishments of a woman business owner who exemplifies a special entrepreneurial spirit resulting in business success through exceptional business practices and customer service, as well as demonstrates a high level of community involvement. The Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to honor Dr. Lori Carnsew, owner of Verity Primary Medicine & Lifestyle, as its Women’s Alliance 2023 Woman-Owned Business of the Year. After beginning a professional career as an electrical engineer, Dr. Carnsew decided to transition to a career in medicine. After attending medical school at Wayne State University, she completed her Family Medicine training at Greenville Hospital and eventually made her way to Baptist Easley Hospital. While serving her patients, she realized the need for a new approach to family medicine. She earned an additional Lifestyle Medicine Certification, and in 2017, opened Verity Primary Medicine & Lifestyle with a focus on preventing and treating disease by teaching patients about healthy lifestyle choices related to proper nutrition, stress management, physical activity, adequate sleep, and supportive relationships. Dr. Carnsew opened the doors of her new medical practice with 40 patients and has expanded the practice to serve approximately 580 patients with a current waiting list. In addition to providing regular medical care to her patients, she also hosts cooking demonstrations and community potluck dinners at her practice. While at Baptist Easley, Dr. Carnsew was honored Physician of the Year. She has also served as President of the SC Academy of Family Medicine and founded the Easley Chapter of the Walk with a Doc program. She’s a past member of the Easley Chamber Board of Directors, past board chair for the former Easley Downtown Business Association, as well as the chamber’s newly formed Downtown Easley Business Council where she was recently honored as Board Member of the Year for her leadership. Please join the Easley Chamber Women’s Alliance in honoring Dr. Lori Carnsew with Verity Primary Medicine & Lifestyle as the 2023 Woman-Owned Business of the Year.
