The Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce hosted its 76th Annual Meeting & Awards Celebration on March 14 at Tri-County Technical College-Easley Campus. Sponsored by Truliant Federal Credit Union, the event honored several businesses and individuals for their leadership and community service. Among those awards, State Farm Insurance-Amanda McGinty Agency was honored as the 2024 Small Business of the Year, which recognizes a small business with a special entrepreneurial spirit, a unique marketing approach, or a special focus on the customer that results in a successful business…all while making time to actively serve the community. Due to her exceptional sales production and relationship management skills, after working for only 18 months with a State Farm Insurance Agency in Greenville, Amanda McGinty was selected to have her own agency. This summer will mark her 5-year business anniversary. During that short time, she has grown her office to five team members that manage a customer base of approximately 2,000 households across SC, NC, and Georgia. During the award nomination process, Amanda was recognized for always putting other’s needs before her own. Regarding her employees, she is dedicated to providing them with the needed resources to help them thrive and meet their professional goals. And from a customer service perspective, Amanda ensures customers are not only matched with the right products to best meet their individual needs, but that they also understand the details of their coverage. And she also has a special flair for making the insurance process interesting for her customers by constantly sharing fun messages or incentives. In addition, her insurance agency is community-driven and supports many local activities. Amanda’s office is a regular supporter of Teacher Appreciation Week for the Powdersville schools, as well as the Annual Clear the List project which is an Amazon-based program where our local teachers post their wish list of needed educational supplies. In 2021, she worked with the Powdersville High School Athletic Booster Club to offer assistance to introduce the inaugural Powdersville Christmas Parade. For Halloween 2023, her office planned and launched the 1st Annual Powdersville Trunk or Treat, a free community event at Dolly Cooper Park which engaged approximately 50 local business partners and welcomed 1000 children, along the 2000 parents & grandparents. And for the holidays, her office hosted its first Meet the Grinch event to treat approximately 100 local families to free photos, hot chocolate, and holiday cookies. Amanda is a graduate of Leadership Pickens County, a member of the Powdersville Business Council Advisory Board, and an active member at NewSpring Church where she serves in the children’s ministry. Please join Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce in honoring State Farm Insurance-Amanda McGinty Agency as the 2024 Small Business of the Year.
