The YMCA of Easley, Pickens, and Powdersville Honored as the 2026 Pillar of the Community

The Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce hosted its 78th Annual Meeting & Awards Celebration on March 19, 2026, at The Loom Wedding & Event Venue. Sponsored by Truliant Federal Credit Union, the event honored several businesses and individuals for their leadership and community service.

Among those awards, the YMCA of Easley, Pickens, and Powdersville was honored as our 2026 Pillar of the Community recipient which recognizes a long-standing organization that contributes to building a strong foundation for our Easley-Powdersville community and is highly respected as an important stakeholder in making our community resilient, vibrant, and successful.

The YMCA of Easley, Pickens, and Powdersville strengthens families, nurtures young people, supports health and wellness, and creates a place where everyone belongs. For generations, the YMCA has been far more than a gym or a building. It has been a gathering place, a haven, a classroom, a playground, and often a lifeline. From early childhood programs that give working parents peace of mind, to after-school care that keeps students safe and engaged, to mentorship programs that provide someone a young person can count on, to summer camps that create memories that last a lifetime. They invest in our children not just as they are today, but as the leaders they will become tomorrow. Their commitment to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility is not just part of their mission statement; it is evident in the lives they impact every single day.

The impact does not stop with young people. The YMCA is where neighbors become friends, where seniors stay active and connected, where families build healthier lifestyles together, and where individuals at every stage of life find encouragement and support. Through wellness programs, community outreach, and partnerships with local organizations, the YMCA helps ensure that access to health, opportunity, and belonging is not determined by circumstance. Scholarships and financial assistance quietly open doors for those who might otherwise be left out, reinforcing a simple but powerful belief: that everyone deserves a chance to thrive.

In times of challenge, our recipient has also stepped forward as a stabilizing force. Whether responding to community needs, adapting services to support families, or simply providing a place of consistency when life feels uncertain, the YMCA has demonstrated what it means to be dependable. They show up, not for recognition, but because service is who they are. That reliability, that heart for people, and that unwavering presence is exactly what makes the YMCA a true pillar.

Please join the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce in honoring the YMCA of Easley, Pickens, and Powdersville as our 2026 Pillar of the Community recipient.
